Mushroom Pepper Masala
I like to cook mushrooms often because they have very high nutritional value. I got this recipe from my aunt and it is very simple to cook. It goes well with Chapati as well as rice.

Ingredients:
- Mushroom – 2 cups (chopped to cubes)
- Onions – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
- Tomatoes – 1/3 cup (chopped)
- Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Bay leaf – 1
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Coriander leaves – to garnish
To Grind:
- Coconut – 3 tbsp
- Black pepper – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Method of Preparation:
- Heat oil in a pan and add the bay leaf and fennel seeds.
- Now add the chopped onions and little salt.
- Fry till they become translucent and add the chopped tomatoes.
- Fry till they become soft and add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder.
- Sautee for 2 minutes and add the chopped mushrooms.
- Add required amount of salt and cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Now grind the coconut, pepper and cumin seeds.
- Add the ground masala and combine well and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
