Plain Waffle
Waffles are easy to make and are wonderful for breakfast. You can prepare the batter ahead of time and refrigerate it for a fresh morning breakfast. Waffles can be served with maple syrup, chocolate syrup orĀ dulce de leche with a dollop of butter or whipped cream.

Ingredients:
- All purpose flour – 1 cup
- Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
- One egg and egg whites from 2 eggs
- Baking powder – 2 tsp
- Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
- Sugar – 3 tbsp
- Half and half – 2 cups (or milk)
- Unsalted butter – 4 tbsp
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Vegetable oil spray for the waffle iron
- Strawberries or any berries
- Maple syrup for serving
Method of Preparation:
Sift all the dry ingredients in a bowl and set it aside. Beat one egg and two egg whites in a separate bowl and add cooled melted butter and half and half. Whisk them well.
Add this to the dry ingredients and mix well using a spatula to make a thick batter with no lumps. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
Preheat the waffle iron till it is ready. Spray the waffle iron with oil and pour a laddle full of batter and close the lid. Let it cook until it’s ready (4 to 6 minutes).
Serve hot with maple syrup and fresh strawberries.
