Bisibela Bath

Ingredients

  • Oil : 4 tbsp
  • Ghee : 2 tbsp
  • Vegetables : Carrot,Beans,Potatoes,Drumsticks,Green Peas
  • Green chili : 3 nos(slit)
  • Rice : 2 1/2 cups
  • Toor dal : 3/4 cup
  • Moong dal : 1/4 cup
  • Onion : 1(Medium)or(pearl onions)
  • Tomato : 2 (chopped)
  • Curry leaves : 6 to 8 nos
  • Red chili : 3 nos
  • Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds :1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder : 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder : 3 tsp
  • Bisibelabath Powder : 2 tbsp
  • Sambar powder : 1 tbsp
  • Water :7 cups
  • Tamarind water : 1/4 cup
  • Cashews :5 to 6
  • Coriander leaves : few

Method of Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker,add onion and fry until it turns into golden brown.
  2. Now add Tomatoes ,green chilies, curry leaves fry for few min .
  3. Soak the rice and dals separately for 20 minutes and put it aside.
  4. Add the vegetables and the masalas (Bisibela bath powder,Garam masala powder,Turmeric powder,red chili powder,sambar powder)in to the mixture.
  5. Now add the soaked rice and dals and pour 7 cups of water in to it and 1 tbsp of ghee mix it well .Andadd 1 tbsp of ghee on top it it (don’t mix it just close the lid)
  6. Pressure cook it for 4 whistle in medium flame.
  7. Once the pressure is released open it and add the Tamarind water mix it gently and add 1/2 tbsp of Bisibelabath powder on top it and mix it well so you will get a nice aroma in it.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and add the seasonings(cumin,mustard ,few curry leaves,Red chili,a pinch of asafoetida )After it splutter add this seasoning in to the Bisibela bath mixture .
  9. you can Garnish it with few fried cashews and coriander leaves.
  10. Bisibela bath Ready!!!!!!

Serve it with Raitha and potato chips Yummy Yumm…….
